    Hey dvdboymax
I have this same drive - MATSHITA UJ-840D. Not my fav and is a bit picky on media.

You're getting a power calibration error -some causes can be media, firmware not update to date, lens needs cleaning or the drive itself.

    So here are some suggestions.
Try different media - like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
I use Taiyo for mine and so far good with that one.

Try cleaning the lens of the drive. Softly with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol (slightly damp not wet - no liquid should get in).

You can check the laptop manufacturers site for a firmware update but there may not be one.

You can also try another program - may not work but can't hurt. Well maybe another coaster. Try ImgBurn.
Use the build mode to add the video_ts folder.

Take the burn speed up to 4x.

The Fuji's you have are made in Taiwan - made by Ritek - not bad but may not compatible w/ the drive.
I haven't tried them on this drive (too picky) but they do burn fine on my other drives.

If you can look for 8x media - just my experience with this drive - it seems to do better with it.

For ImgBurn just click the hyperlink in my above post. Or here the url:
    http://imgburn.com/
    The latest version is 2.3.2.0
