I need to get my Xbox chipped but do not have a clue where to go or what to do!

hello everyone. i have recently purchased an xbox but have heard that it would be so much better if i had it chipped or modded. i would really love to have this done but do not have a scooby doo what to do about it.... someone please help me!!...
