Today, I received a copy of Pokemon Pearl. Unfortunately, when the game loads up, and when I continue to play it, it says "The Data Could Not be read. Power off the DS System and reinsert the cartridge." It seems like the pins are silver-ish around the bottom and golden around the top (it seems as if one was scratched off of the other). I'm not sure whether it's the pins or the game itself. Any help is appreciated.

    Things I've tried so far:
-Cleaning with a bit of water
    -Blowing on it
-Trying it on a different DS

Try cleaning off the pins with a pencil eraser.

Sometimes not all the pins are used.

had the same thing happen to me same game the pins on the board are garbage and fail easy they recommend you purchase a new cart because launch carts have this issue and nintendo has even told people that they would replace faulty carts
