I bought an I/O magic IDVD168DL Internal 16x yesterday and have installed it into my desktop. I can't get it to burm faster then 1.0. I am using DVDdecrypter, I have another PC that all work fine. I have check all settings in decrypter and they match the othe PC. I am running 1.25GB memory and have a 2.53GHs Celeron Dell PC. I am using the same disks as the other PC. I have checked for drivers or updates and non are out there. Any help would be awsome.

Check and make sure all drives are in DMA mode and not PIO mode.
    Here's a guide.

Just to check when you installed the new drive did you set the jumper pin on the make of the drive to match the connector on the ide cable - ie master connector - jumper pin set to master.

Hmmm maybe that the discs while compatible with the one drive aren't that compatible w/ the io magic.

Have you tried any other media? Which media are you using?
Pop a blank in and open decrypter. In write mode it will list the actually manufacturer of the discs you're using. Post that back.

Ok can you post a log from decrypter?

Have you tried another other burning software?

I have tried Decrypter, Shrink, and RipIt4me. The log do you want a screen shot?

If your burning w/ Shrink you probably have Nero installed (Shrink doesn't have it's own burn engine).
Look here for Nero logs - Nero saves the last 10 in a text file. Just need the last one.
    Nero 6 - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory
    Nero 7 - program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory.
    Edit out the serial # too - begins w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.

Another thing to try is uninstalling the drive in device manager - rebooting and letting windows do it's thing and reinstall.
Right click on my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager.
Right click and pick uninstall on the drive listed under dvd/cd rom drives. Reboot.
