You busy? Wanna walk me through the first part of this build?

I have a webcam. I'm not positive where to start.

Weather depending i might be out on the river tomorrow, but I'll be about in the evening some time I expect (of course, that's more like mid afternoon in the US)
There are of course other people here to help, post in the PC building thread if you need something, you'll get an answer from someone :p

Stayed up pretty late last night putting this monster together. This being my first time for a complete build I took my time, read the manuals and watched a couple YouTube videos.

I got up this morning and finished her up.

Her name is Clair. A good Irish name. She was born today August 2nd at 1:05PM Central Time, 23" tall and 38lbs.

Here's a picture. More to come...

This is one of the things I wanted to be able to do.

Rip 3 dvd's at once. And fast.

    Here are the results.

    Prom Night 3.65GB 7 min 51 secs
    Leatherheads 5.08GB 7 min 52 secs
    Knocked Up 5.1GB 5 min 21 secs

GPU - Paid $199.99 (Newegg) - XFX Radeon HD 4890 Xtreme (Free HAWX) - Newegg Link

This GPU went up $45 dollars since I bought it on 7/28/09.

    It's $244.99 now.

must have been a special offer for getting the xtreme card the same price as the normal 4890 - as that's still the exact same price you paid.

Done, but in future do that via a private message, posting email addresses is against forum rules.

    Hey dude!
Building PC's can be VERY addicting!!! I love building machines, haven't bought a PC since 1997 and I've built 5 for myself in that time and over 30 for others. For awhile, I seemed to be the "Official" build machines for my Fire Fighter Brothers, from around 01 to 08, I was building a machine almost every month. Of course, figuring out what they want, compared to what they NEED and divided by what they can Afford is always the hardest and longest part!
Back in the early years, guys were getting me to build Gaming rigs for their kids and of course they wanted tons of Bling, Zing, Flash..for no Cash...LOL! I built some very cool rigs with custom designed case lighting, custom windows, all wires wrapped into bundles with silver reflective wrap, to enhance the case LCD light. Was fun building those, but they took time.
I've never had a problem with Asus boards either and I've used a few, but Gigabyte makes nice boards as well
My last build was done in 2012 and it's theme was COOLING! At that time, I was transcoding a lot of AVCHD video and it was slow, so I built this machine for overclocking with excellent case air flow, water cooled CPU (Intel i7 2600k) that I can hit a very stable 4.8 Ghz with.
I started checking new MoBo's and CPU specs the other day...the bug may be biting again, even tho this machine easily does anything I need of it...NOOooooo!!! $$$$$$
    LOL
