ibm t40 thinkpad

    i just put a secondhand m/b in my thinkpad and it has a bios password do any of you guys have an answer
    it's called a power on password

    c'mon sam you can do it

    disconnect the motherboard battery for maybe 5 minutes with the main battery removed & external power disconnected. reconnect motherboard battery & connect external power or main battery to see if password is resolved.

    Your going to have fun fixing that problem. Try googling this "ibm t40 power on password reset" and read some of the links. Unfortunately it may cost you some money.
