i've been trying to make a bootable hard drive on a sata seagate 160gig and done just fine. but when i try running ide hard drive along with the sata hard drives, i get a loading error or os error. i can put the boot on the ide and run sata as additional storage, but can not do it the other way. also i'm running 3 ide's on the mother board and 2 ide's on a ipc slot. but no matter what i do it seems that i can't run a boot off of sata without taking out ide hard drives

Have you checked your bios settings, my board has a boot sequence so i can choose SATA or IDE first, also see if you can select HDD number, ie HDD-0 Hdd-1 and change that.

    Should sort it for you.
    hope it helps.
