IDE to SATA hard drive

    Hello,
    I`m up grading my hard drive on one of my pc`s from ATA to SATA. What i want to know, is there any way i can copy everything files ect (including XP)to the new hard disc or am i looking at formating?

    IDE is in fact, ATA, or more specifically P-ATA. You can plug in the new hard disk and use an application called Norton Ghost to make an identical copy (that will let you use an operating system) onto the new hard drive.
