I don't know if this is just me or is it happening for others. When i click on anything on aD things like my account to profile page or even threads and articles. I click them and i have to wait for a doubleclick.ad or something just says waiting for website etc.. Is there a glitch there or is it just me??

for some reason when putting in hyper links into the news post pages using the "url=http://][/url" command, when there is recognisable strings like drm ect in the page address, the links are broken.

    *edit* example

Then you get to the truth PS3 A smokescreen for Blu-ray?

*edit2* ffs it works here but in my previous post it broke the link. here >> http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/9601.cfm

DRM, lock-ins, and piracy: all red herrings for a music industry in trouble

*edit 3* thats what happens because the arstechnica has drm in the address it breaks the link. this is just the link without the inserted text >>

This is a known (and an unfortunate) glitch in the UBB parsing routine. It will hopefully be fixed very soon, as the UBB parsing is being re-worked.

Thank you for your patience. =)

    pigfister,

Politics have no place in our forums so the inflammatory statements in your sig need to be removed and you also need to make sure your sig conforms the the specs laid out in the forum rules (link in my sig).

Hi Jeffbuck, welcome to Afterdawn. We enjoy seeing new members, however this thread is used to report problems with the site operation. I suggest you look at the forum section titled SAFETY VALVE. There are many threads there that are just for BS and talk. Or look over the other sections and see if you can help out by answering some of the questions on other topics.

Is there a problem with excessive double posts? I have had more double post in last 4 days than I had since 2004 Oct. I post and nothing shows-then I can leave the thread and come back and press the post button again and voila a double post. Anyone else. I'm using Mozilla now and I just had one. I also use IE.

worked like it was suppose to for this one.

Nice to see you around AND posting help answers, not just moderating.

I've been tweaking the settings on our MySQL slave server during the past couple of days -- while some tweaks have been for the better, some have caused periodic slow-downs on the site. Forum messages (like most static data) are being grabbed from the slave server, and if the slave is overloaded and database updates are being queued, new messages might not appear on the thread instantaneously.

Things should be better now. I hope. =)
