    @ambaytek -

    - your blanks discs aren't being recognised, due to the firmware being so old. this is similar to what you should see -

    - ie a 3line paragraph when the firmware's up to date. Your discs are newer than the burner's firmware knows what to do with as it's out of date.

    As per cougar_ii you need to try 1.03, but 1.03 was dated April 2004!!, so even the latest version of firmware is way out of date to cope with newer media..

    @chel0921 -

    - version BYS3 of your burner's firmware (dated 17th Nov 2004) is here - http://dhc014.rpc1.org/indexOEM.htm#DW-D22A
    That's real old now, the drive is not gonna be able to recognise all newer media

    - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - something's using up most of your memory

    - hmmm, dunno what this means, i'll hve to google for it

    - follow ALL suggestions

    - try 4x

    - CDRALW2K.SYS is part of Roxio. try uninstalling Roxio (doesn't always play well with Nero), then you might need to fully remove using Roxio Zapper - http://www.microadvantage.net/utilities

    Hey gang,

    First time poster here and new to DVD burning.

    I'm having an issue trying to burn data (pictures in particular)to a DVD. I have been through the forums trying to see if there are any issues like I am having and this seems to be the closest.

    I have looked at my log file and compared what others have done to resolve there issues. From what I understand the following are not issues

    Ram - Physical memory: 1023MB (1048052kB)
    Free physical memory: 563MB (577400kB)
    Memory in use: 44 %

    Firmware - LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S>Version: PS08

    Nero - 6.6.0.18

    DMA - CdRomPeripheral:LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On

    Write address - Last possible write address on media:2298495
    510:46.45, 4489MB)
    Last address to be written:745055 (165:34.05, 1455MB)

    Media - Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: FUJIFI - LM03

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Reb
