    Hello.

Please edit your post and remove the Nero program serial number before the pirates have at it.

I think this is very poor quaity media you're using. Stick to Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony for the best results.

The Roxio CDRAL driver is installed which has been known to cause problems with some systems. In this case, it's likely the media causing the problem.

You don't have much of a memory cushion. Shutdown any unnecessary programs when burning.

first edit out your serial #.... use the edit icon found in the right hand corner of your reply on this page that looks like this: [IMG]
your serial # is on the top starting with 1A23.... take it out!

your version of Nero 6 is not the stablest version.... 6.6.0.18 is the most stablest version of Nero 6 and I would update it to that version. Here's how:

Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot!

    install package one:
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539

    then install package two:
    http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go!

Turn on your DMA.. otherwise you're doomed for failure. Here's how:
    http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

you are using too much memory..... 512K is the minimum amount of memory and you're using too much of it for Nero to be sucessful. Shut off all unnecessary programs that are running in the background, no internet while burning, no multi tasking while burning and it should be ok if you follow this

this is crappy media! Use the good stuff and you won't have problems like this! Look on the label of the box or spindle and make sure it says MIJ (Made In Japan)! Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, Fuji.... MIJ! Using MIJs could solve many problem that come with crappy media! That's why you're getting: Illegal disc and this: Burn process failed at 4x (5 540 KB/s)
this is a Roxio/Sonic driver and if you are having problems with Nero then get rid of this because this drive is known to make problems for Nero! uninstall Roxio/Sonic and then use the Roxio Zapper to make sure there are no traces of Roxio/Sonic, found here:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

after following all these suggestions you will find that Nero will work! good luck. and welcome to AfterDawn!
