Yeah I found a Daewoo dvd player in the roada month or so back , it did not work , I took it apart , checked things , messed around & sooon was able to get it to play however EVERYTHING was black & white & no updates to be found on this unit , so i tossedit out , but it looked like brand new , but I read MANY BAd forums about it ,,,good luck
I just have a quick question on the ILO DVDR04 remote control. Does anyone know the device code for this remote or any similar remote so I can program it into my universal remote control?
Thanks Jweiler3 for your reply about my Daewoo. I poked around inside but couldn't see anything that I could do. The fuse was fine. I was able to remove a bracket from the bottom of the DVD tray and retrieve my DVD, but couldn't see anything I could try to get it to work. I'm a ham, and used to play around with electronics years ago, but with everything multi-function chips on a printed circuit board there's no way to attack a problem without specialized knowledge of the product. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way. The various devices we have today, and their functionality, weren't even dreamed about when I was an electronic hobbyist. I'm still amazed, and I'm an EE.
Hi y'all, I just bought an ILO DVD recorder and plan to move our VHS movies, etc. to DVD. First we have C-Band Satellite and a sidecar. And VHS player. Currently signal comes into the sidecar and then to the Satellite receiver and then to the VHS. From VHS to TV. I think we'll have to route from VHS to ILO to TV. Anyone with any experience there? Then I had thought I'd get some experiece going from VHS to DVD and then maybe would be able to setup a "burn" everynight when we go to bed. Has anyone done this? Does it need more care and feeding than this? In many cases there is more than 1 movie per VHS tape but I thought it would be OK to start the movie playing and just let it run to the end but program the ILO to just record the length of time the movie runs. And the next night do the 2nd movie on the VHS. I'd sure appreciate hearing of your experience both good and bad! Regards, KLESmiley
I was recording and disc went full, now I put the disc back in and it doesn't recognized it, Why did it do that, and is there any way to fix this without losing my recording? Thanks, Norman
Id recomend unpluging it for at least an hour and clean the laser head. When mine says unreginisable disk and I know I recorded a movie. I clean the laser and when I am not using my recorder I periodecly uplug when I am not using it for a couple days. Think of it like a computer unpluging the ILO is like rebooting. Try this ok. Check for dust too. If so clean it out, I live on a dirt road and have to clean mine out monthly.
Hello all, and thanks for the abundant info re: ILO R04 unit (own 2 of ‘em, purchased Dec. ‘04 and Mar. ‘05). Only bought the first one because I could capture but not burn DVD from my PC using Adobe Premiere v 6.0, and it was cheaper to buy an external DVD recorder than to upgrade Adobe. Second one was bought so I wouldn’t have to lug original one back and forth between computer and TV room. Did not need high-end quality (primary use is transfer of VHS tapes), and wanted to save my $$ for Blueray or whatever HD format recorder comes out. That’s why I bought ILO. One has worked fine from day 1. Other one eventually deteriorated, improperly or incompletely formatting or reading blank media and pixelizing on playback in one or two-hour modes. Right now, its only used for playback, and I need to fix a problem with “crackling” audio when playing commercial DVDs. Anyone experienced this? Did cleaning the laser fix it? Thanks again for a wealth of information.
i have the 05 mu model and i cannot burn things off my othor dvd player to this one because of copy portection crap so i cant make a "back up" dick how can i get around this the only way i have found is to hook it up to my computer through the rca jack and mirror the monitor and send it back this works but not the best in quality eny one can help that would be sweet
My solution to copying movies with a copy guard was to buy a box online or through Best Buy that cuts through the copyguard. Be prepared to pay around $100 for it thought.
just it i do not have the $$$ to drop on that i know it has something to do with the macrovision but wanting to know if thair is a hack for this beast othorwise no complantes about this model works fine and have been useing imatiaion dvd+R no big problems a couple user malfunctions but all is fine

I rember someone had a firmware hack that did this but I think it messed up my schedule page on the dvd recorder. I was just wondering if anybody knew about this and if it actually works because i dont have any foreign films. I just wanna make shure itll work before i blow 20 bucks + shipping on a dvd. I have a dvdro4 ilo model dvd recorder and here is my problem. I record movie and the finalize right but when i go to watch them on another dvd player it pauses our skips is there a way that i can fix this problem. thanks
Thought I would drop my latest into the mix. My recorder failed, big suprise huh, soI got an RMA and sent it back almost 3 months later it comes back to me, still broken but at least the door opens. I have written back 4 or 5 times and they have not bothered to respond. I guess maybe you only get one repair and then you are on your own maybe? Anyone else have this experince?
Ilo4 , some dvd+r you record will not play on some dvd players , its that simple , if you put it into a dvd player & it skips/pauses.ect , its not your dvd itsself , but the player you tryng to play it in . be sure the player says it will play dvd+R , even then some don't . I have 6 dvd players , 3 dvd+R play in , 3 dont , and one of those 3 say it does , but it dont , , so try another player is all i can say , or , if you have dvd recorder in your computer , just copy the dvd+r from the ilo & record thru computer to a dvd-r , that works to
Just found out that my 05 records/plays dvd-r which is pleasanrt surprise as i can get dvd-r's for cut rate prices...... wow!
