anyone know of a app i can use to extract video from an unfinalized dvd+rw (in the dreaded dvd_vr format most set top recorders use)? I pop the disc into the mac and it won't mount. toast reads that there is a disc in the drive and it let me reformat, but i can't get the disc open to get at the juicey goodness inside. anybody have an idea?
Tough one there. I would bet that some peecee apps like nero would do it. But I hate to say it this tiem but the mac may not...
well, i figured it out myself, but it's going to cost me actual money... turns out these discs are in UDF 2.0 format and neither OSX or WinXP will read this format. there's a forty dollar driver called ReadDvd http://www.softarch.com/ to fix this. i suppose i'll just pony up. anyway, i answered my own question. thanks guys!
