So it really doesn't burn dvds? Well that's a big let down. I guess that's what I get for not knowing anything and believing the dell dudes. Thanks for all of your help! You guys rock.
Sorry kristelle, you can always get a USB drive for your laptop this is what I use with mine and it works out very well :~)
You're very welcome kristelle, and thats very unfortunate, sorry. There is software that will allow you to backup a dvd on 2 or more cd's but you can buy a dvdrw drive for about the same as what the software will cost you. I would go with the second option since you already have Clonedvd2 and you can download dvd shrink for free. Check out newegg for the best prices. Here's the link. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=10 Edit: Oops reread some posts. If you've got a laptop then arniebears suggestion is the way to go. External drives cost a little more but I think you will find newegg has about the best prices on them too.
i was doing well for quite a few days to not see any posts with - and now i have , ARGH!. will now look thru the thread properly..
OK, you guys sorted everything out now i've read it thru. And Memorex media is safe to burn another day, and i feel vindicated as i genuinely still haven't come across a Memorex-to-blame thread in many days :0
Regarding Clone, I had a similar problem. I can burn with Roxio and Decrypter, but Clone says that the correct media isn't in the drive. I couldn't burn with anything at first, but a Firmware update got me to a point where I could use most of my software Wouldn't it be great if everythnig just worked Dan
