I have video files(made with Windows XP on a DVD+RW disk) that play fine on 2 DVD players, and used to work on my computer. However, I've tried the disk in 2 different computer DVD drives, and it now reads as an empty DVD in both. I remember reading a while ago that data is copied 'less strongly' (apologies, I don't know the technical term) to a re-writable DVD owing to the nature of the media, and I think that must be the problem here. Any advice on how I can get a computer drive to read this DVD?

I have had strange problems with XP and DVD-RW.
I would try uninstalling the drive then rebooting to let Windows detect and reinstall.
My Computer- Properties- Hardware- Device Manager
Select DVD/CD Rom, highlight the drive and 'uninstall', reboot.
