OK what type of project should I pick when Nero loads? DVD video?

Cuz when I try to burn a dvd as a dvd video with nero I can only add vob ufo and IFO files, u know the normal dvd files.

I know that and I have to make them into dvd files and I have and now Im having this problem as I have stated

"Ok I have now just created dvd files but its about 10 gigs, and I want to split it up into 2 dvd's and compress it with dvd decryptor. SO i took half the files and put them into another folder. Now when I tr to add one folder the IFO file is telling dvd decryptor there should be 21 files instead of 10 movie files but there isnt. So how do I change the IFO to think of it being only 10? Or is there another way to put this 10 gigs on a 1-2 4.7 gig dvd-r's?"

I dont know what to do :(

PS thanks very very much for your help so far it is and has been very much appreciated!

You can't just yank out half the files and burn that. Well, you can but it won't play in anything. Check out some of the guides in my sig. There should be something there about splitting a movie to 2 DVD5s.

oh my bad. ok u cant spilt them up, but u can compress them in shrink. load the files into shrink and click reauthor. then u can see how much compression u r gonna have. take the compression off of auto and try to delete some of the nonsense like subtitles in espanol, and some of the audio files. i usually only keep the 5.1 surround and thats it, i even get rid of the 2 channel, unless makin it for someone that aint got surround sound. let me know how that goes.

It wont compress enough to fit on a 4.7 gig dvd-r

simply put, if you want the film to fit on one DVD you need to "bare bone" it, no menus no subs, no frills. etc., otherwise run the risk of splitting it (AS FOREMENT)........plain and simple,,unles you have a dual layer drive and disks.

do you have DTS audio in there? You can get rid of that, it takes up a bunch of space and you can't tell the difference between that and regular 5.1 (AC3 I think it is). And even if you don't have 5.1 surround your 2-channel stereo audio will work with the AC3. If you see audio that says DC or Director's Comment, that's the director's commentary, which most people never use. If you can get it down to 8GB or so, you can compress from there. Or you could use DVD Shrink twice, the first time with Deep Analysis and Quality Enhancements, the second time normally.

this is a quote from kocher
OK now I have added the files into nero, and I have the latest version but I dont see anything about creating a menu.

I just want a simple menu allowing me to select which episode of the season I would like to watch

    ok, step by step.
    1. open nero, select make your own dvd video.
    2. click add files, find and select your episode->double click it.
    3. " "
    4. do this to every episode that you have, and nero will automatically create a menu(u can choose the template later in the process.)

ok if everything is one giant file(not in individual chapters):
    1. same as above.
    2. click add files, select your season, and double click it.
    3. once u see the file u want to burn-click on it once, then at the right of the screen there are a bunch of ooptions.
    4. select "create chapters"
    5. now you can watch the whole thing, and insert a chapter and title when a new episode starts.
    6. after u have created achapter for each hit next, select the type of menu you want and wallah--you are all gravy!!!!

let me know how this works for ya.
