    hi scouser could you just confirm if these are the right caps i should be looking at

    They are standard jtag cables that have been used since day one, more than likely unbuffered type you have seen.

    Martin you are looking at the wrong board look on the psu board beside the ribbon cable :)

    ok scouser thanks i have found the c11 at the side of the c11 there is a burn mark will still b ok to change the cap or do i have to change the board ???

    i got box back today with 4 working channels,factory reset and autoscanned,all channels back and working first time,i rang him up to get more info on his cable and he says cable into house to multipoint distribution running 5 tvs approx 15 years old wired up by cablelink told to recheck links. scouser,ferg,celt have u any input please. thanks

    hi i have a box that resebles a clone in every way except its runnung v 4.00 on it no problem ,,, any idea why its ok ..
    are they clones out there that have been converted to take genuine firmware ????

    Just change the cap Martin, the board should be OK.

    More than likely you have a 1st gen genuine box.

    Its a cabling fault in his house, as he has split his cabling so many times. If he trys it directly from the incoming feed it will work.

    thats great as i told him to check his connections,do u know if the multipoint distribution unit gives trouble as its 15yrs old as it was wired up by cablelink ,cable that old is it ok or upgrade would u reckon? many thanks for reply

    Yep just tell him to use a good quality cable, e.g. CT100, and use good quality RF twist on connectors and good quality splitters, all can be got in Maplins. This will dramatically improve his signal level/quality.

    Happy New Year to all.

    We should start the new year with a new vigor and hope the coders also get to work for us with a new vigor, to provide us with the new bin, that we are all waiting anxiously.

    Can you tell me what bin file this would be as we do not need a new file as yet as the ones we have are working fine and what is this new file supposed to do in regards to the others we have at the moment
