    Hi,
Was on here a while back asking about Ashbourne and what service they have etc. My folks finally got their NT* connected and it is digital through MMDS. When I go into the settings on their UP* box its saying 6887.
I tried a bringing a Eurovox down to them to scan and just can't get it to pick up anything?
    I tried 6887, 6952 and even 6875 (for chorus)
I tried manually entering the transponders and nothing.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks.

You are correct it is suitable for NTL MMDS, but you have chorus mmds which it is not suitable for. It has a dvb-c tuner, You need a dvb-t tuner like one in the box-t or EUROVOX TX

Try one of thos and your problems should be resolved

sorry why do you think its Chorus MMDS?
The original box is showing 6887 which is NTL?
I never said it was chorus.
    Thanks for the reply though.

are you sure you had the ariel plugged into the right place and no offence but if you tried the box in two dif places would you not think that its possible you have chorus mmds in your area?

But the fact that the original box settings are showing as 6887, does that not say that it's NTL?
IT would be 6875 for Chorus, correct me if I'm wrong as I am no expert on this stuff but rememeber reading it somewhere.
    Thanks.

no it wouldn't, i'm in ireland also and sometimes the symbol rate shows up as the one for TW in england, simple way out of it is to ring the provider and ask, might also state it on your bill.
edit. there nust be someone else in your area with one that you could ask?

3 of the neighbours have it and its NTL Digital, the bill says NTL digital aswell.
I have setup about 50 of these boxes in Dublin and they generally scan in first time. Really confused why its not working.
Its not even picking up the transponders.

Not using any splitters, main feed is plugged in and in the RF in.
I have done this a million times for other people but never with an MMDS setup. As I said I assumed it was NTL as the 6887 was showing on the original box that was provided by UP*.
The only thing I can think of is that the signal is not strong enough for the Eurovox?
    After that I am lost.

can you try one of the neighbours boxes in that house to rule out that possibility?

Checked one of the neighbours box settings and they are the same as the folks.
I am going to try it again over the weekend hopefully.
    Its really confusing.
talking to a guy who seems to know his stuff in the area and he reckons that chorus is in the area but only in analogue format and that the only digital available is NT* digital.
don't know what else to try.

Just a quick update on this.
Don't know the neighoburs well enough to ask them for their box.
Is there anything I can check on the original box to make sure that its digital and that it is NT* MMDS.
The invoice that the installation guys left says NT* Digital MMDS basic package. THe box has the 6.887 in the settings so I am pretty sure it is NTL MMDS digital but the Eurovox is giving nothing.
    No transponders at all.
    Thanks all.
