tried the 4 of them. number 3 was the only one the d/l box popped up but no joy was` using a usb serial adapter with null modem cable was told that was the prob by using adapter you split the connection between pc and box

 

Is the starview2 the box not a starview anyway except you dont get as much issues with and more chance of future support bein available?

 

Hi anyone got a link to download the bin file that you use in skymax when you are doing a jtag on a clone or can you just use 2.57 fixed

on my laptop its a 4, but when i got my first usb to rs232 it was was only 3 but nuthin would upload I reckin its the adaptor

 

do I need to download the gtrom and the 257e fixed for the skymax or is there a different bin file i am a little confused

why did u buy a skymax m8 how did u no go for starview or eurovox?

 

He didnt Skymax is software you use to jtag a box

what is the reason u may want to JTAG a box, ive read it on here but didnt really understand what it was for

If his box has become dead for some reason, e.g. a clone with genuine firmware put on it. He needs to jtag it as this will resolve his problem.

 

I don't want to tempt fate here, but my box has been rock solid since the ver 4.00 update. well ok the EPG is still crap but touch wood everything is ok, oh and the odd scrambled channel (but still keep sound)

 

My EPG is fine on V4 .. try this

INFO & EPG

Menu > User Setup > Time Setting > GMT + 01.00 >
Current Time > Enter the correct time and go across and change to AUTO >
Summer Time is ON .. This should work for the Info and the EPG

 

changing the gmt to +1;00 also works for the epg on my ver3.00 its not perfect but does cover most channels pretty accuratley if anybody was wondering why i'm still running ver3.00 i've never felt the need to upgrade my software it auto rolls fine never get any problems with scrambled signal if i ever do i'll run ver 4.00 see if thats any better

but u are one of a very few who have found no problems with v3.00.
