We had someone on here a while back with this problem. I ran him through checking the remote with the phone trick, and same as yourself, the remote was working.
Next thing to do is remove the top of the SV. There is a small cable from the front panel, connected to the mainboard with a plug. Make sure the plug hasn't come loose. Just to be sure, pull the plug of the socket, and put it back on, give it a good push to make sure it's really on.
The guys box was fairly new if I remember rightly, and that was his problem, so don't be surprised if thats what you find, even in a new box.

The starview 2ThheBox is exactly the same on the inside only different house on top that is all and the firmware is not compatible with each other dont buy digivox if you live in a C***** area as it wont work the best best bet go for either the starview2 or the eurovox

I have owned both boxes and a clone. All are fine although the starview 1 will no longer be supported for firmware "well so I hear anyway" The starview 2 will be supported and continous firmware should be available when needed, with regards to the EPG this is 'ok' as long as you have your time settings sorted, you will find out how to resolve EPG issue a couple of pages back. I would recommend the box for a beginner as it is easier to set up and is reliable as any really. Although my friend has a eurovox and very rarely has to upload any firmware.

    I hope this helps.

    KMACDON.

My vote goes to the Eurovox :)
