Hi Richy, have you tried the mobile phone trick. If you have a mobile with a camera, put it into camera mode, point the remote at the camera lens, and press a button on the remote, you should see the diode flashing.
If not, try new batteries. I know, I know, "but I just put new batteries in". As with anything, new batteries can be dead, so just to eliminate it, try more batteries, if it still doesn't show up on the camera, then you can be pretty certain the remote is knackered.
If you can see the light flashing away on the remote, the next move is to take the cover off your box. There should be a small cable going from the front panel, to the main board, ending with a plug. This cable/plug may be loose, even in a brand new box. Disconnect the cable, and put it back on again, making sure you give it a good push, for a good fit.
If that doesn't do it, sorry, no idea at the mo.

Bezzyboy, you said they had version 4 firmware on them. Try the bad flash process, as you have been, i.e. start the gtrom loader, load up your firmware .bin file, click download, and then turn on the box.
This time, try an older version of the firmware, say 2.56.

I assume these are genuine boxes, not clones.

hello all. please be gentle newby here.

ive had starview box for 6 mnths now with 2.57e software installed.

but when i do a rescan i cant seem to get e4+1 nor the new virgin 1 channel. ( i know it doesnt start until tonight but my mate has the welcome screen showing on his legit box now,)

does anybody know how to get these channels.
do i have to manually enter frequencys and if so does anybody know what they are and how to do it.

be easy on me i expect this has been covered before but i cant find it.

i know that if you scan the box the channels should appear at end of list as numbered channels but all i get is the odd ppv movie .

    thanks in advance
