man, this forum keeps straying off-subject... i mean wtf is with the crappy magnum and whats that got to do with halo 3? this isn't called a "halo 3 discussion" for no reason.

yeah, looks like I'll have to buy the books now so I can figure out everything else that is going on. And while yes this is a Halo 3 discussion forum, we've kinda speculated on everything we can, we're just waiting now for Feb. 9, 2005 to see if anything happens.

Last nite I played my first couple of big battle games, they're freakin nuts! Talk about a fragfest...

 

Some of us need to do a spell-check or something before we post. Since we're straying on and off the subject....so. I'm with you guys on the hopes for Halo 2.5/3 but I disagree with what some people are thinking for backwards compatibility on Xbox next. I mean, I think the reason Xbox stomps the PS2 so much is because the PS2 has the BC with PS1. If you’re gonna buy an Xbox next you most likely already have an Xbox. If a consequence of no BC means Xbox will continue to beat PS, then I say it will be money well spent.

 

Dude, Xbox KILLS the PS2. If you compare Halo w/ Killzone there is really no comparison. I actually had an Xbox for over a year, but bought a PS2 b/c I wanted to play a few of the games. After 3 weeks I sold the PS2 and bought a GBA b/c I was so fed up with how crappy the PS2 games were. EVERYTHING about the xbox is better. EVERYTHING. 4 players automatically, no stuipd memory cards to buy, automatic high-speed connectivity, better graphics/sound. Name me ONE game for the PS2 and I will find an xbox game that destroys it.

Ok, now that that is off my chest, Halo 3 should have a bunch of new multi-player maps that are d/led into the HD so even people w/ Halo 2 can d/l them off of the live update. They should also hopefully add some new weapons and vehicles. Again, I think the mongoose looks pretty killer. Also I'd like to see the covenant ver. of the warthog (can't remember the name) in multiplayer, as well as the giant green gun that the hunters have...

 

I'm with you. I think the best testimony though is games like GTA that are on both consoles. The PS2 graphics on GTAVC make me think of Dreamcast....what am I saying, Dreamcast beat PS2 in the graphics as well. I had NFL2K for Dreamcast when it first came out, and even then, the graphics were cleaner and smoother than Madden of PS2.

They need to put Halo 2.5 out there for Xbox so we can finish off the covenant then move on.

By the way, has anyone else played the Bond:Goldeneye? After playing Halo Bond doesn't hold a candle...

And anyone who can beat Halo 2 on max in less than 10 hours needs a girlfriend. I'm pretty good and I can't clear the first boarding party. I wonder if those guys run through the whole thing or let the Marines do their fighting for them. Pretty sad really.

 

does anybody else think that the special ops. guys in halo 2 look cooler than MC? cuz i really like their black armor with the silverish visor.

 

i think that the new xbox should be kinda like PS1 and PS2 where u can play the PS1 games on the PS2.....Micro Soft would make more money and they wouldnt have the problem with releasing Halo2.5/3 to early cuz then u could play it on ether xbox

 

that would totally crush the sales on PS3.....whos gona buy a PS3 besides the dorks who thinks it pmped out and crap

 

Ryan, brother. Hear me out. I'm not sure why but I have a feeling that if they make Xbox2 BC (backwards compatible) it will suck it down and not allow it to monkey stomp PS. Remember how nintendo kept changing? Yeah, it sucked, but the reason they did it was the newer technology demanded it. Besides, I think Xbox was just there to whet th appetite. Could you honestly play games on a different console and be satisfied?

It would be like dumping your current hotness for the swamp donkey you had to take to junior prom cause you were a loser back then and the other kids laughed at you and called you pizza face and never invited you to the real parties and just....well...I mean, it's hypothetical.
