And with the original CCE Basic didn't you get the messages: Can't open ecl file? and after OK, there is nothing to do, dvd rb couldn't locate appropriate file in working directory! you must prepare & encode first.???????? I mean it works properly?
vmx100 Seriously, buy it otherwise you'll never get to know it or enjoy it. The trial versions are just annoying!
OK And which one costs 58$? CCE Basic or CCE SP? As I understood CCE Basic is the best. CCE SP is just a kind of "presentation" right?
Basic is $58, CCE SP is $2000, but the difference for what we do is virtually zero and Basic works better.
vmx, buy it, you won't regret it. As subjective as this subject is(which apps produces the best quality), almost all agree that rebuilder/CCE is no. 1, it's only which comes in second and down that the debate arises. That in itself should tell ya something. Something else to consider down the line, DVDremake(25.00), best editing tool out there, works great with RB/CCE, Unfortunately it's trial version ain't so hot either since it won't let you export your reworked files, but it does give ya an idea how it works. Good luck....
I can't remember how many times I've suggested that someone buy CCE Basic and I've yet to receive a single complaint.
And we think that we don't have an open discussion thread left. I found this one from a link in the best transcoder thread
hey you old lurker you! Where ya been, we thought you moved to somewhere in South America, a remote village where they don't have any PC's or net connections! Good to see you are alive ;>)
siber What magnetic force pulled you out of your shadows? It's been a while, has lurking lacked the human contact that we all need now and then? Good to see that you're still alive.
Good point Donald, there's been so many changes in RB since this thread was started that an update to Vurbal's guide is called for. Hear that Vurbal? It's hard to believe that this thread had been buried for almost three months.
Hi, bigo, Sophocles. I've just gotten so busy. Moved to S.C. and I am being worked to death at a local health clinic. Lots of sick folk... That hasn't stopped me from checking from time to time on you guys. Still using Rebuilder too. Most useful piece of software around. BTW, Sophocles, thanks for the message a few weeks ago. Just behave yourselves, I may just be around the corner, lurking...Don't let this thread die, I need it.
I thought I would just log in, say hi to the gang, and make a nuisance of myself. Also, for any of you that track college football, Big-O has a lot on the line when the VOLS play Notre Dame at Knoxville tomorrow. I suspect he's waited all season for this one...especially after Notre Dame beat Michigan.
Doc I guess we won't see much of bigo tomorrow. siber This thread was just about dead, I'd all but forgotten that it ever existed. I found a link to it while going through the best transcoder thread and I thought I'd resurrect it. That last post was August 5, almost 3 months ago when I stumbled across it. I think that we'll use it enough so that it won't get buried again.
I fear the input got put into the big RB (currently 90 page catch all) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/90/97052#1154200 . That thread is so large, the newbies are complaining they can't find anything in it. Much of the latter part of that thread deals with a lot of problems inherent to particular versions no longer in use. That's why a development thread and a general help thread should be kept separate. But then, the beginners have a problem of which is which and the regular members don't pay that much attention to where they answer the questions. So, sometimes the "good die young" is applicable to forum threads as well. Don't you love those bad puns. LOL I guess about the best guide now is "Use the Rockas installer". Though I still do things the hard way, many of the beginners find the installer the easiest way to install RB. http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/ That still leaves the setup and individual controls that have changed with time. I wish someone would do a guide on the new Pro version of RB and go through all the control options and let us know what the individual controls are and how they function. Some controls are obvious and some aren't and therein lies the problem. Now who would do a comprehensive guide for the RB Pro?
I had decided not to do any revisions until 1.0 came out. I'm working on a new guide now and should have it ready to go soon.
