You look for the one that corresponds with your stb.

that website you quoted was down yesterday, we couldn't do anything with it. We did get the bin from another site however, and the viewsat is now working fine. Thank you both for the help.
Got another question for you though...we have a coolsat 5k, and now got another one 6k. Do we need to install it directly to the dish or can we use a split switch from the 5K?

 

You can't split the dish cable like you can with regular cable tv. The way to run 2 receivers is to run 2 cables off the lnb outputs (if it has the 2 connectors). One cable goes to each receiver. If watching 2 or more sats then you still need 2 cables off each of the LNBs and then duplicate the switch setup you were using for the single receiver for each of the 2 receivers. Example:: 2 LNBs each with 2 output connectors= 4 cables off the dish. One cable from each LNB goes to your switch and the switch output goes to one of the receivers. Do the same thing with the other 2 cables to the second receiver.
