Installig XP OS??

    Well there is a light in the PC that is staying on is that aspose to be staying on expically when varnull said
    "If the HDD light comes on and stays on all the time you usually will find an incorrect jumper setting causing a conflict. That will cause a blank screen and no beeps."

    does that mean anything??

    The light is green and is on the motherboard and wont turn off.

    that light shows that there is 5 volts getting to the motherboard. what is the make & model# of the pc or motherboard?

    I have a user manual that came with the PC the user manual says Asus A7N8X Deluxe is that it?

    yes. that is an old board, about 4 generations ago.

    try clearing the cmos as described in the motherboard manual. have found that to work sometimes to kickstart a stubborn pc. calling it the night as got to be up at 7am to goto to a customer to work on their 3 pc's, 2 towers & a laptop. we'll talk tomorrow afternoon or evening.
