    By your threads, you said you have a DVD-Rom and CD burner now if you ever want to take one out and upgrade to DVD burner (or DVD/CD combo) you already know exactly what those ribbon cables are and what to do with them. Highly recommended, especially as you can get some great burners through http://newegg.com for around $50 with shipping.

    Oh wow, that is so cool to know, d-rum. I doubt if I'll be doing this anytime in the very near future but I really appreciate the link. I didn't even know that you could get such a thing, and certainly not for that reasonable price!!

    No problem, just letting you know you have options. Glad things are working out finally. Now you have your first taste of upgrading and modding, you'll want more since it's very addictive.
