I'm using a computer at my school and want to encode a demo video using VirtualDub, but when I go to "compression" the computer only recognizes the default codecs and none of the codecs I install like Divx, 3ivx, or VP6. Is there any way for me to encode with those codecs without having adminsitrative priveleges?

of course you need to install to use vfw with vdub.

all i can think of is using mencoder. its commandline though.

Assuming that the PC's have .NET framework installed you could use doom9's GUI.
