installing new dvd drive

    Ok, I have a peice of crap thompson, cant read nothin. ok i've planned on modding my xbox and i know pretty much all i need to know about it and am planning to do it soon. Alright after i get everything set up and modded i want to replace this drive. Can someone thats already did it tell me....What dvd drive to get? how to do it?... I'm a complete newb on this subject.

    i got a samsung sdg-605 or something like that.its been working for me. i got mine off www.ebay.com

    Once you've got hold of a drive, just swap it.. no installation, no setup!

    but can an xbox that came with asamsung drive be compatable with say a phillips drive?
