Send me the URL for the pic you're wanting to put in your sig. If I need to, I'll email you the setup. The tags are active on the AD site. When you open the Reply to a thread, there are the tags and the usage instructions posted above the box you post into. It shows how to set up [bold]bold[/bold] type, show a quote,
set type in italics and put in pictures, like my little flying buddy. [IMG].

Here is a capture of the text using the img tags for images to enclose the imageshack URL. http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/8226/adtags6kb.gif As you can see, I'm using a Gif image instead of a jpeg. They're often smaller and less content (loads faster). The signature in accounts allows large pictures, so you don't want to use anything overly large. To give you an idea, the flying pig is 138x108 pixels. I've had to use software to shrink images for use on occasion. Here's that capture:

Showing a picture of the text is the only way for you to see it other than going to the page on AD. As I mentioned, tags are active when you type them in.

Wow, only seems a day or two since I last posted, and I've just spent very little short of an hour reading the posts that have been made. I can't help but noticed we haven't really touched on intel and AMD for well over 100 posts, though!!!

Yes there's nothing like a decent monitor, and as far as I know flat screen still includes CRT's. I have a 22" .24 dot pitch View Sonic professional series (model P225F) . It's set to 1600 by 1200 at 85 Hz refresh rate but I could set it to 99hz refresh rate but why push it I want to keep it for a while. I paid $579 in April O4 and unlike most items that go down in price after a year and half the price for this monitor has not lowered at all and in somes cases it has gone up in price. I bought it to play and watch DVDs on and to work with Video.

Sweet. We like Viewsonic CRTs, we do. I can't see any reason not to push to 99Hz. Even if it does break (and i very doubt it will) they all have a 3 year on-site warranty to my knowledge.

I often go to my private PC room to watch DVDs while the wife and son take charge of the living room set. I also have surround sound which I crank through my 400 RMS THX rated logitech speaker system and an ATI high def (antenna only) TV tuner but the regular tuner part uses cable quite effectively. I'm hoping that this monitor will last until the flat panel units get better in color quality, refresh rates, and latency.

    To BroBear,
Here is the Image I want to put with my sig.
    http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4084/xfx25ll.jpg
The pic itself is only 150x174 so it's small to start with. I shrunk it with PS-7.
By the way is there a way to remove your stored pics from ImageShack? My biggest problem is total lack of Internet experience. I've really only been on line about a year and a half. I had AOL dial up back in the mid 90s. Back then you got a lot of stuff you really didn't want to see. My sister will not go on line to this day because back in 98 she went looking for clothing for her grandaughter and wound up with all sorts of porn sites. She typed in "Schoolgirl clothing, 6 to 8" and was rewarded with porno sites featuring teen girls! I have no idea what a "blog" is, or Avatars and things like that. Mostly I play old Colecovision games with an emulator program and a little of Delta Force 2. Mostly I just go to the 3 or 4 forums I belong to and see what's new.
Anyway, you have a nice day!

Go to my account at the top of your screen and copy and copy and paste paste this and this [ /img] and then copy and paste the URL below between them.

    [url]http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4084/xfx25ll.jpg[/url]

There should be no spaces. btween the url and the final bracket should be like this "[/img"] I had to put a space between the forward slash at the top or it wouldn't show.

    Sophocles,
It is so frustrating when you don't know what the heck you are doing. When I try to copy the image all it allows me to do is copy the image location. From what I make out of your instructions is to make 2 copies, and paste one on each side of the URL with no spaces between the images and the url. It's like when you guys showed me how to do a screen shot and post it. It wasn't hard to do but it took me a while to understand what the heck I was doing and get everything right. Now it's easy! I hate to be a dummy but could you clarify your instructions so I can better understand them?

    Thanks,
    theonejrs

On that Dell monitor. Dell has the controls on the front. I have a similar one, but without the rotary dial. The right hand button is the On Screen Display (OSD) button. Yours has the 3 buttons I hope or I have the wrong directions here.

Click the OSD and turn the rotary to the control you want to change, horizontal or vertical control, then click OSD again. That selects the control you want to change. Then make the adjustment with the rotary dial. If you can't find your manual, Dell has them online.

Here's a capture that shows you exactly how to write in the tags and links. Type exactly without spaces between the text and tags.

Ooops... the i in the italics tag should have been lower case. I don't know if a capital works or not. LOL

For comparison, look at the way AD gives directions, as I said, these instructions are listed above the box where you do your replies. I know, it's sometimes hard to see what's right in front of you.

    BroBear,
I have the manual. It's not the monitor settings but something in somewhere in the software. It does it on all 4 monitors in the house.
