Sophocles, you sound down right giddy. Try a movie with DVDshrink. It should impress speedwise.

Here's where I am now. You'll note that the X2 4800 is compared just below my bench and it's considered to be the fastest stock dual core on the planet.

LOL... Soph, time to get out of the Kickapoo joy juice lad. Those links are giving me the Imageshack page and you're posting the tiny pics too small to read. I know you know how to do it right. You keep it up and there'll be nothing for me. All this posting, I think it's time I get a new brew.

Soph, is an old P2 server worth anything other than weight to keep the garbage can from blowing away? I was given one because it was in the way. My son just installed new equipment in his clinic and the old server was just in the way. I suspect the new keyboard and ethernet cables he gave me may be worth more. LOL

The case and the power supply might be salvageable.

The Da#N images kept coming up small but the last one worked.

If you guys want an awesome AMD processor identification utility download it from this link from majorgeeks

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Central_Brain_Identifier_d3538.html

that is what i use it is pretty awesome and pretty thorough, you can even adjust things and change the name of your processor. It is safe too, it doesnt install like regular programs, you just download it, drag the shortcut to desktop, send the files to a folder and then you have it, just click on teh green skull and it will tell you everything, it is pretty good and the most thorough.

I made a war between nvidia and ati, but hopefully all is forgiven. Here is my benchmark scores. I used equivalent as possible cpu to min which is in my sig. Now I really do believe amd is faster than intel even know it runs at a slower hertz.:>

Mine actually beat a 3600 intel extreme edition even know im running single channel ram at pc2700 to boot. Wonder how much better it will get with pc3200 dual channel..hmmm! Oh and this is stock not oc. These scores seem good so anybody know why I get low futuremark scores like 5000 or 6000? Which dont make sense cause I have a bfg 6800 gt oc edition.:>

I used it today. I was curious as to why CPU-Z identified my CPU as a Toledo core instead of Denmark. I always suspected that the Opty 175 and the X2 4400 were the same CPU and now I know that they are. The only difference is that the Opty 175 comes out with better silicon and is binned with higher standards. It works like this, suppose you had a choice between the X2 4400 and the now fictional 4400 Xtra? The Xtar is the same but runs a little faster and is more stable and all you have to do to ge a good chip is to pay a few dollars more, would you do it?
