    Hey Guys,

I was thinking of adding another pair of 3200c2pt 512's to the Asus/Prescott build, will the additional two sticks have any adverse effects in memory speed or timing?I ask this because on some boards the memory will only run @333mhz with 4 modules in place.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Latest Build-Asus P4P800SE,Intel Prescott 3.0/800 w/ht oc'd to 3.6(stable),2x512 Corsair Twinx 3200c2pt,Coolermaster Cavalier case,
    2xMaxtor 200 gb.Ide h/d's,Gigabyte Geforce 6600GT,Thermaltake 450w psu and Creative Sb live audio.

    Boxwrench,

No worries about that. Your P4P800-SE runs all the memory at the correct speed. Usually if the speed lowers, it's because there are only 3 memory slots and pairs are required to run PC3200 at 400 MHz. Check Newegg as they have Kingston cas2 memory on sale in a 1 MB kit for about $92!

    theonejrs,
Thanks for the info,I saw that sale at Newegg. I already have the Corsair,it's on loan in the wife's computer until I get my Rma for the G-skill ram I bought for her(had 1 bad stick). I should be receiving that before the weekend.Gotta love Newegg and I think they love me too...I've spent over 4 grand there in the last 12 months!

    Hey Neph,
That's one beautiful case,I almost got the silver tsunami for my AMD build but I got this one instead. The reviews were not too good because nobody could figure out the 4 zone fan controls...their loss!It was $30.00 cheaper when I got it.>http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?Item=N82E16811195028

This is the case I bought for the Prescott upgrade, the price was right and it's not hard on the eyes either.>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119075

I, like you would recommend either one...no complaints here.

    aabbccdd,
Yeah, that sure looks good,I bet it keeps things nice and cool inside. That power supply location is different but I'm sure it's effective!

How's your case ventilation, and how do you check memory temperature???

Hmm I don't remember seeing RAM in PC probe but maybe I just wasn't looking.

    aabbccdd,

Did you ever install the other case fan? I hate to ask dumb questions but is there a power supply fan on the bottom sucking in air? I noticed the power supply location and the power supply is upside down which is just the opposite of a top mounted PS.

If there's a slot for one, add one!
Ah I see why I didn't get RAM temperature, I haven't installed AiBooster, only PC Probe. Is it worth it?

Hmm, with a prebuild with a warranty and all that I may put that off for a while, it's fast enough for me as it is!

    sammorris,

I wasn't aware that there was any seperate temp sensor for memory. It would take 4 sensors to give you any meaningful information as the slots are too far apart to share a pair.

    aabbccdd,

Now that's one fine looking desktop! A lot of class!

Hmm, yeah, slot 1 & 3, there is indeed a reasonable gap.
