    @crowy,

    Alright,so I'll do a swap with my sig systems memory and see if there are any noticable improvements in the benchmarks...if so I'll know what avenue to pursue when I have some extra cash.

    I was told AM3...what the hell do they know! LOL!

    Boxwrench,

    I'll be standing by as well with my Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. Heh! Heh! Think that's enough power???LOL

    BTW, here's my 3D Marks for the new Sapphire X800 GTO:

    [IMG]

    They are about 20 times higher than my old 5200 could muster!

    @crowy,
    Thats a project for tomorrow,I'll borrow the memory from the AMD and swap it with the Intel's to see what happens.The 2x1gig sticks of OCZ have the same default timings of 3,3,3,8 so the comparison should prove interesting.

    @theone,
    LOL! And I'll also have the dylithium crystals fully charged just in case we need to jump the warp drive.

    BTW,Very nice looking numbers on that benchmark, You got one hell of a deal on that card!One of these days I'll run 3dmark just to see how bad my two computers are doing.

    "WE Need Warp Power Now, Mr. Scott"!

    And I'll bring the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator Justin case we run into the Klingons! LOL

    BTW That card is on sale at Newegg for $139. If you have need for a really good AGP card, this is about as good as you are gonna get. Since mine was made in Feb. 05, I'll bet they will all have the 16 pipes and the good memory.

    Looks like the conroe is out of the box and out of vaporware.
    ANd it is kicking AMD's butt. Even the lowly chip beats out the best Amd prosessr. Amd has some answering to do... can they answer?

    @theone,
    Thanks for the link,have you got another link to the money? LOL! If I can scrape some extra cash together I will be getting one myself...before they are gone!

    @baltekmi,
    I'm sure AMD will have an answer,the question is will it come too late.Intel is certainly causing quite a stir and I'm sure people will be swarming on this new offering.

    boxwrench,
    That's what happened to me. I had an X850 Pro on order for $154, total! My bank didn't clear it in time. I missed out on it by about 4 hours! Glad it happened now! I wound up with a cheap AGP that's got 16 active pipes, the fast Samsung memory and the R430 chip! This is essentially an X800 XT. Hooked up digitally it's more than I hoped for when I bought it. DVD's are no longer "movies", they're an exciting experience! There's no comparisun between the analog and the digital. The analog is TV and the digital is amazing. You see things you've never seen before because of the amazing detail digital affords. I can't wait to see "Batman the Begining" and maybe "King Kong" The dimensionality the digital gives it is almost like 3D. Throw in "Jurasic Park" and wow.........! It's as close to real life as you can get, second only to the real thing!

Plus a bios update helped some other problems .so my temps are down almost 15 degrees wow huh lol mobo running at 35c and the cpu at 36c at idle lots lots better!!!! so thanks everyone for the help, shes good to go Captain Kirk so beam me up!!!!

    aabbccdd,

    I'm glad to hear that you've got the temps under control. How quiet are those Sythe Fans!LOL Bet the whole computer is a lot quieter as well. Glad it worked well for you. Eventually I'll get a couple of the Sythe fans for myself and enjoy a little quiet as well.

    Got my new X800 GTO AGP 8x video card installed. The way it all worked out turned out to be quite a bargain. First thing is it came with the good GPU chip, the R430. It also came with all 16 pipes enabled and the fast Samsung memory. Saphire may call it a GTO, but the specs call it an X800 XT. It will waste any nVidia card except the 7800GS, and there, it's pretty even as most of the differences are subjective with no real performance gain for one or the other. Out of the box, stock mine does 11487 3DMarks (3D Mark 3.0)! I play Halo at max everything and it's smooth as glass.

    The digital output to my Sceptre is connected and I can't find words to express how it lookes when playing a DVD. Easiest way to describe it is Analog, it's TV! Great TV, but TV none the less. Digital it's an amazing experience. Where you would see a dark area on the screen with the analog, there's detail with the digital in that same dark area. You see so much more than ever before. The depth is another amazing thing too! It's just so real and lifelike with a dimensionality that's just incredible. Almost 3D! In movies like Batman Begins or King Kong the 3D effect will have you ducking. The Shawshank Redemption (my finest recent RB/CCE work), in your minds eye, puts you in the picture. You feel like you are right in the cell!

    I have a Sony Scientific Medical 17" RGB monitor that cost a whopping $1800 4 years ago that doesn't look as good! I don't know that the video card itself improves DVD picture quality very much. I wouldn't think so, but the digital.......! WOW!!!!!!! Can't ever go back to analog now!

    boxwrench,
    Yea! Except none of the games work again. Voltages are good so I know that's not the issue. The vid card only shares with the hard drive so I don't know what it is. I'm about ready to give up on XP and go back to 2000 Pro. At least everything runs on that. Every damn time Windows XP updates I have a platter full of bugs! A year without a Profile and now I have to click it on every damn time I boot up! I don't want the damn thing and now M$ says I have to have it and it can't be removed, at least not easily! My question to Mr. Gates is how come I could play Quake yesterday, but I can't play it today? There's been no hardware or software added and it ran Prime95 all night without a glitch or error!

    aabbccdd,

    You are more than welcome! Glad everything worked out, in a nice quiet (pun intended) way! Nothing beats good airflow, especially good quiet airflow!

    Get TweakUI from MS, and you will never have to select a Profile again, it works.

    My last post here, hopefully.
