It would probably be better for you to take out the cdrw drive and leave the dvd drive in it. Reason being your dvd burner that you put in it WILL be able to burn cdr and cdrw as well so having 2 dosent help you much But if you leave your dvd reader in there and add a dvd burner. one feature youd be able to do would be to put some dvd's in your dvd reader and direct copy them using the burner. like dvds you've created and such. Hope that helps.

If you have 3 bays and a big enough power supply you can hook in another drive as the slave on the same IDE channel as your hdd. It would really be overkill as like pchan424 said the dvdrw will do everything the cdrw will do.

    what do you mean??

like suggested, take out the cd burner and replace with the dvd burner
as said you will beable to copy on the fly(dvd to dvd)
this is not recommended though(increase in the likelyhood of errors)

when copying dvd,use the dvd-rom drive to load the dvd onto the hd,then burn with writer, dont use the dvd burner to load up dvd onto your hd,using the dvd-rom will save usage on your new dvd burner

only use the dvd burner to load up dvd if you are having problems with media compatibilty on the dvd-rom drive.

i mean that on my computer, my cdrw burns at 52x, and my dvd-rw burns cd-r's at 24x max, and i am constantly burning music cds on the go and that extra 30x really speeds everything up, just something to think about ;)

wow that must be a pretty old dvd burner then because my liteon dvd burner was fairly cheap i mean no where near top of the line and it burns cd-rs at 40x Max.

Most new 16x dvdrw's will burn cd-r's at 48x or 40x at least.

you can check your burners capabilitys on nero info-tool os alcohol 120 cd/dvd manager, amongst others

having said that, there is no way i would burn music anything over around x8 anyway, unless you want the music sounding like some stuttering idiot,
    hehehe

I would be willing to bet your overall time of burning a CD wouldn't be much different at x24 and x48.. The DVD RW will more than likely burn at a consistant speed while the CD R will slow down as it goes. Try them out and see for yourself if you dont believe me and time them. :)

I for one believe you BB. I seldom burn cd-r's over 24x.

A bit large of a sig gif don't ya think?

How about this one? I resized it for you. Just copy the path of this jpg in it's properties window and paste it to your aD signature window.

From near a quarter million bytes to around 20,000 which makes it easier for others to load this screen, especially those poor soles with dialup.
