    dcr88,

are you able to access the web on your pc at all ? or are you using another pc to view this forum ?

if you are using your pc , then some of the problem is solved.

firstly , when you ran a virus scan , did you use your antivirus or did you use the online scanner (if you have access)?

try downloading KILLBOX from here . downloads.subratam.org
    save to desktop

once you have downloaded it run a new hijack this log ,

then put a check next to the files that thug told you to do click fix checked

    open KILLBOX and then

Click on Tools > Delete Temp Files and click ok.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' (Ctrl + C)
the same files then post a new hjt logfile

what antivirus software are you using ? it could just be that your firewall needs to be configured ,( norton normally has these problems )

post back and let us know how you get on

right seen that it is norton

firstly go to norton in the system tray , open click on personel firewall and click on programs,

your settings shud show as default ,

go down to the list of programs that access the net and scroll to

microsoft generic host processes and check that it is permited if not allow it to connect

just under it shud show internet explorer do the same

check each individual program, disable any that have anything to do with windows or your antivirus but make sure your generic host processes are permited

    save new settings then exit

reboot your pc , try to access the web again , it shud let you do this.

also can you update your antivirus using liveupdate ? if not manually update using the symantec site

run a full system scan and check your pc is free of viruses , spyware , adware etc
