Internet Connection Question!!!!

    I was wondering if it was ok if my internet connection stays on, constantly downloading data for a long time. For example, I'v been downloading different things for about 9 days straight. Plus playing a little online gameplay with my PS2, and I have yet to restart my computer or reset my internet connection. So is it safe? And can or will anything happen if I dont give it a rest??
