ATTENTION! IF someone realizes that i said an IP Adress etc that i should have that i could get into trouble (hacked / etc) with. please tell me and ill edit it out ^.^ (Im kind of dumb you see)

Not quite sure where to post this, so move if theres a better place mods :)

Im having difficulties with my Speedstream 4200 Bell modem. Seems to not let me do certain things (DCC send IRC) Anything that needs my ip adress i guess. So the ip that ipconfig gives me is a 192.xxx.x.xxx adress. From my knowledge that is *not* my real ip. Other times when i use sites like ipchicken.com, i get a COMPLETELY different Ip adress. its a 74.xx.xx.xx. So im pretty sure that is my ip adress. I cannot port forward anything either. I looked around the internetfor a while. Portforward.com.. some forum sites and i cant forward my 4200, there is nothing to guide me on how to do this. Any ideas folks?

    Thanks.
