Are you logged in as Administrator? I had no idea you had multiple user accounts when we started this. My fault I guess, I didn't know your level of computer experience. I should treat everyone as though it's the first time they ever sat in front of a PC. LOL But, doing this takes so much extra explaining and typing. My time is limited. I'm helping on 4 different websites like this one. Keeps me really busy! Hard to keep track of everyone, too. As for your sons user account, is it set with (administrator or limited) privledges? Does he have alot to lose if we go ahead and delete his account for now? We can then finish trying to clean up your PC.

If you'd like to check to see if you can find his background issue here's how to check. First log into his user account, if it is set to limited privledges, change the account to administrator privledges. This must be done to make changes in WinXP.

How to remove a background from the desktop background list:

    1) Go to the start menu and choose My Computer, or Double-click on it from the Desktop.

    2) Navigate to the ...\Windows\ Folder. If you are presented with a warning about modifying system files, click the 'Show files' link to continue.

    3) Look in this folder for the background name you wish to remove. If it is not here, go to Windows\Web\Wallpaper directory and see if it is located there.

    4) If it is not in either of the above locations, look in the 'My Pictures' folder. This can be found inside of 'My Documents'.

    5) If you fail to find it in either of these directories, go to Start Menu, Search. Click "All files and folders", and enter the name of the background to locate it.

    6) When you have located the file, you can either delete it, or move it to a new folder. Try creating a folder called Moved Backgrounds. If you move the file to this new folder, it will be removed from your list, but still available on your PC should you change your mind.

    TIPS:
Image files listed in the Background display options are the ones stored under the ...\Windows\Web\Wallpaper directory, plus the background in use if selected via the 'Browse' button.

If you are having trouble finding the directory, search for one of the names of the wallpaper, i.e. stonehenge. Once it is found, left click and go to open containing folder.

    Warnings:

Do not modify any system files.

    FOR YOUR HOME PAGE ISSUE:

The reason your seeing the page you sent me is because you didn't finish the process after you RESET your browser.

Open your browser. At the bottom of the page you sent. Click, CHOOSE YOUR SETTING. On the next page that comes up. Click, KEEP MY DEFAULT SERVICE PROVIDER. On the next page click, GO TO PROVIDER. This should take you to the MSN home page.

For me to help you change it back to want ever you want it to be. I will need to know want home page you want. Comcast, Yahoo, etc.

Looks like there is on last thing and perhaps I didnt' explained it well earlier. I went to my sons' profile and R/click on the properties and Desktop. In my profile, I can change the wall paper however in my son's profile, everything is greyed out, we can't change any options, although all the wallpapers are listed, when we click on them, it's not doing anything. Ccleaner removed the old wallpaper from the addons, it seems that we are still looked from changing the blue wall paper of his profile. Let me know if you can help

    Thanks !
