iphone help

have some probs with iphone

my brother brought me his phone saying he tried to jailbreak it and now it wont turn on (stuck in recovery mode)

i have tried to restore using itunes but getting unkown error 1015

i have downloaded latest firmware and tried to restore again selecting the firmware i got and still same error

he says when he tries to run redsnow it hangs at downloading jailbreak data

he never backed up his phone and he dont remember what firmware etc it was as its been a few weeks since he last had it on

any suggestions?

 

boss, what iphone 3g or 3gs?

what is the original version?

i am running windows vista with latest version of itunes

itunes still showing error 1015 i have tried ireb but still the same

 

mate,

the only way for this is a thethered phone....

use tinyumbrella 4.2.1 to save shsh
if you could restore it in ver 4.1 much better , if not , you proceed to updating to ver 4.2.1
restore in itunes version 10.1
then jb in redsnow 9.6b6
check "install cydia and ipad baseband"
after that unlock thru wifi...

this is the only way to make it usable,,but dont let the iphone drain batt or power off
because it will back to recovery mode...if that so , then repeat the procedure again..

so i need to open tinyumberella and save shsh
run itunes 10.1 and restor to 4.1 if fail try 4.2.1
then run redsnow
select install cydia and ipad baseband

if succesful then unlock through wifi on phone

fingers x'd it revives the phone

 

ok i have opened tinyumbrella 4.2.1
phone is detected in recovery mode i pressed save shsh (done nothing as i checked the stored shsh folder and is blank)

tried to restore iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore with itunes 10.1 and get error 3194
tried to restore iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore with itune 10.1 and get error 1015

is there anything i need to do with tinyumbrella apart from press save shsh???

Good update managed to revive phone

Phone is 3gs 4.2.1 baseband 06.15.00

i have ran redsn0w and now have cydia on the phone where do i go from here

 

boss, open cydia and update..
you must have wifi...
after update...open select repo666.ultrasn0w.com and install it..
your phone is unlock...
