@ [bold]thedrizz[/bold] -- do it the "easy" way. update ur ipod to 1.2 firmware, then load the images to the ipod, directly. that means there is no up dater to worry about.

@ [bold]Tim432[/bold] -- well... what can i say? i suggest that you take your ipod to somebody who knows what they are doing. do some googlin' and find where abouts near you can offer such services. ( sorry if that soundss gay, i just didn't want to repeat the word you -- ...find where abouts near you you can find such services... )

@ [bold]thedrizz[/bold] -- its in the top right hand corner of the ipodwizard. instead of updater choose ipod.

@ [bold]ipodgurly[/bold] -- well... i don't have a clue as to what you could do (hey, that rymed) but you could try and put the ipod into disc mode (in itunes) then try it. dunno really... just a thought.

@ [bold]thedrizz[/bold] -- if its the old nano (non metalic case) then you pick nano

if its the new one (aluminium [luminum] case) then i don't suppose you can mode that yet

Lethal B, Am I missing a step somewhere? I followed your steps, "All you have left to do, is simply connect your iPod to your PC and use the "Restore" feature on the Updater to rewrite the firmware with the modified version." Am I supposed to open IPod Updater 2005-11-17? If so when I do I get a message, "invalid iPod Service version" what does this mean?

What does "invalid iPod Service version" mean? I can not download themes into my 60gb black ipod.

@ [bold]godzilla[/bold] -- first of all, why practacly repeat a question?

Secondly, i suggest that you use the correct updater :)

@Thecraigc, sorry for the double post, I don't know how to change a post once it has been posted. Do you have a link to a more updated, updater. I thought 2005-11-17 was the most recent, but I'm just a newbie to this Ipod stuff. Thanks

@ [bold]godzilla[/bold] -- go to itunes (itunes 7) (when the ipod is connected) and check what "software version" you have, then find out what umm... date thingy(?) that is. eg. 6-26-06 or whatever. then get a theme for that firmware.

NOTE: always ensure that the theme is for the correct updater

if the "software version" is 1.2 then you will need to write the theme directly to the ipod.

if the "software version" is 1.2 then you will need to get a theme that is 1.2.

i dont think you can. im about 99% sure. and i think its due to it not only being for the ipod.
