Ok, Thank you, I figured out the firmware part, though. Hold on a sec.

Don't worry, I am not going anywhere soon. Take your time, and do things properly, as I am more than happy to help you through step by step..

Using iHack, do I have to wait until disk mode is enabled before I patch or just do it?

don't worry about all that.. and easier way would be to connect your iPod to your PC & click the "[Downgrade]" button twice, and then you will be able to "update" using the iPod software. (Will have to add this to my guides, as it is easy to use and slightly more "hassle free" in comparison to the iHack method)

Where do I click on the "Downgrade" button?

In iPodwizard. Once you have finished theme modifications, click the "downgrade" button which is located in the top-right hand side of the Wizards' interface. (I would suggest clicking it twice).

Okay, I did this and all the images are messed up bad. The images are all mixed up and there's only half of each image on my iPod (i.e. there's a battery when I try to change the volume). I'm very concerned if I screwed something up bad. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are the group of bitmap images applicable to the particular version of the iPod's firmware that you are using?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are. They are just all Jumbled around and some images are cut in half.

Buddy, I think your firmware is different to the firmware in which the bitmap images are intended for. Which version are you running?

Okay, I have found that it is only meant for the 1.1.1 firmware. I'll try another one and see if that works. Thanks for the help so far!

I am not absolutely sure where you got that one from either. However, you link me to the theme you would like, then no matter if they are for v1.1 or v1.1.1, I will convert them for you so they become compatible with v1.0. :)

I actually found it. I updated to v1.1.1 on my iPod and now I am trying to put the Windows Theme on the iPod. I'll post back if it works.

Alright then. I hope, for your sake, that you manage to pull it off. Once you have done it once, it gets a lot easier to understand :)

Well, I didn't pull it off. It does the same thing (mixes up icons). I thought I had it this time, but I didn't. Any suggestions?

P.S. I know that it is loading the right icons because of the percentage thing on the battery, except the other icons are jumbled. And, I restored it instead of clicking "downgrade firmware" because I didn't need to downgrade the firmware, just mod it.

Jazo, there is one thing you need to know about the "downgrade" button & "iHack".. [bold]neither of them downgrade your iPod[/bold]. All they do is mess with the firmware so the Updater [bold]thinks [/bold]you are running an older firmware, (when in actual fact you aren't) which will allow you to simply "Update" your firmware to apply your theme, rather than having to restore your iPod.

This may sound silly, but are you totally sure you have a correct (v1.0) bitmap archive for your updater? because the index numbers for each particlar graphic are similar between the firmwares, but not the same..

I actually have the v1.1.1 firmware on my iPod, now. I don't know what the theme is meant for, but I thought that it was for v1.1.1, not 100% sure, though. How do I know?

I try doing it the way where you press "Downgrade Firmware" twice, but before even a fraction of a second passes it says that it is done and nothing happens. Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?
