    but that is you!!!!

my music collection spans over 100gb(40 gig on ipod) and auslanders is over 20 gig. so the reason i/we both want 60 gig players is because we need them! LOL

    300mb...lol

I have heard about the battery life on the Ipods being about a year and repacements costing £40. If that is correct then thats a good reason not to bother buying one. Has anyone got any confirmation on the battery situation?

i have an ipod, and it is about 2 months old. i am very happy with it. but i feel like it is just a timebomb before i wait for the first thing to f**k up!!

@webhedreg - i have been in the apple forums, and, yes, there have been many problems with people and batterys.

all i can say is, apple have sold 30 million ipods worldwide whereas the closest rivals (creative i think) have only have only sold around 3.8 million. so with ipods being undoubtedely the most stylish and popular, it will come to the attention of people more. also, with it having nearly 10 times as many models as anyone else, it means the percentage of faulty ipods compared to the rivals may sound like more, but in actual fact are probably less! if you have a look at the forums of some of the customers of other mp3 manufacturers, they have their fair share of complaints. so, i suggest if you are going to shell out a fair bit of dough on an mp3 player, take half an hour to do a little bit of research in2 it

    thats enough!

    I hate iPods!
If I'm going to spend $200 on an mp3 player, i want more than just a few GB's of space for music, which is why I have a 40GB Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. I can fit about 10,000 songs on it. The iPod is a ridiculously overpriced and overrated piece of crap.

i disagree. i have a creative zen touch also but it didnt have enough room. i got a 60 gb ipod. if you just appreciate an ipod as a nice mp3 player with an eternity of features and accessories, you'll love it. the audio quality is not as sharp as the zen when you just load the tunes and play, but if you bother to shell out on a decent pair of h/phones and adjust the graphic equalizer, the sound is wonderful. the creative is a great player with great sound. but that is pretty much it. i was happy with just that, but to be able to get things like my fave podcasts auto downloading onto the ipod, and pictures and games etc is fantastic. it is well worth it. when i used the creative zen, if i were to load 30 songs onto it, that would be it, i couldn't play them all because i'd have no idea where to find them all. at least with the pod i can make smart playlists and categorize songs by most listened etc

    thats my 2 cents.

what have you used one, with all the features?? have you tried and tested it compared to others? at least back it up...
