I've had my 5gen iPod for about one year now. A few weeks ago i started having problems with it. Most of the time when i turn it on after letting it sit over night it gives my the message, "Use itunes to restore ipod." I did this about ten times but it still does this.
Now i'm getting problems like freezing and harddrive errors when copying songs over to it. It freezing on certain songs so i think it's a hard drive problem; also because of the weird sounds it makes.
    Any ideas?
I know i should have bought the warranty!
It's over $100 to fix it.

If you have Windows, go to My Computer and right-click on your iPod. Click Properties, then the Tools Tab. In Error Checking, click Check Now. If there are hard drive errors, that should get you started in the right direction.

I've tried restoring it about ten times; it didn't do anything
I also tried to check it for errors and none came up.
