is there any free software to convert movies to your Ipod

The trouble is my son is running windows XP ,I know SlySoft has a great program for 40 bucks by I was just looking for a freebie

 

is it a dvd or video from the computer

I used videora and all of the videos (vob's) of one movie were sent to Itunes. I sync the ipod with itunes and all the video Vob's were sent to ipod. Is there a way to make each video run together instead of in parts so you can watch a movie without interruptions? thanks

wot my problem is when you rip a dvd to harddrive and then convert it all to one mp4 it ends out as a few gb's i need help.

and is it as simple to rip it to an ios image then use handbrake to convert to mp4
