Is Adobe Premier any use in DVD ripping?

    I was wondering if Adobe Premier, Vegas Video, and the like have any applications in DVD ripping?

    Not really. They are avi video editors, so if you want to edit the DVD, you can frame serve the vobs into them, and re-encode into mpegs after editing. Then you can re-author or whatever. This process requires *huge* amounts of CPU and time.

    Not really needed if simply backing up DVDs.
