also you might try replace the drive/burner there pretty inexpensive. i would go with a Lite-On or a BenQ . thats def. easier than reformatting

yeah, i'm pretty close to launching this drive, even though it's only been out of the box about a month or so.Some good news ...it appears my crap might finally be working right. i flashed my firmware @ your suggestion, tweaked a few things, ran a few more suggested programs, tried a flick(that i've tried 3 x before )thats been giving me a problem. the drive read&burned W/o a prob. knock on wood.
i might be in the clear, but i thought that before. all that and it only cost me about $18.00 to burn it! but what the hell...its about the principle right!!!!!! yes it is!

maybe the firmware update will solve the problems ,lets hope.being the drive is not that old it should be ok

using clonedvd 2 with anydvd is your best choice also.

we haven"t talked about blank media .what are you using? Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim is your best choice . memorex is the worst

hey whats up.yeah i think you're right about the firmware, seemed to work great.thanks again for that.
been using any-dvd and 1-click for a while w/ good results. been thinking about clone since i have a coupon.i use to use it a few years ago, actuall burned my 1st dvd w/it.
i use my fair share of crappy media cause its cheap, especially when you encounter a prob,( not afraid to make a few frisbees )but also use a lot of verbatim lately w/the lite-scribe.
cant say i really had much trouble w/the cheap stuff though.yeah i use alot of memorex though..lol.
heard of some fake Taiyo Yuden, so i stayed away from it.
what do you recommend/use programs, drive, media, ect..?

i'm not big 1 Click fan but alot of people like it .as said clonedvd 2 with your anydvd would be your best choice.

media: stick with the Verbatim and or Taiyo Yuden . i get all my Taiyo Yuden online so theres NEVER a problem getting fakes.if you do buy online get them from supermediastore.com . i got a 300 pack the other day for 71.99 so the prices are good also.

drives: LG makes pretty good burners actually. in order here are the best ones Plextor ,Lite-On,BenQ then LG and NEC probably tie

you know better than i do.... why would i like clone2 better?
1-click is sorta limited(generic) in features. like say, compared to... shrink....but its user friendly(but not free).i dont mean im a cheap skate, if its cool i'll gladly pay for it.
well, theres a trial period, maybe i should try that instead of grilling you...lol.

yeah use the trial , you will like it

it updates for life ,you can control the burn speed ,you can re-author (doing the movie only) and the picture quality is way better than 1 Click. use this guide if needed

slightly off topic. can you help me get the virtual drives(daemon tools) off my machine, or should i post a new thread?

can you right click the drives and delete them?

i have a safely remove hardware tool in my taskbar that does mine

or try removing them in device manager if they show up there

or can you delete Daemon Tools to get rid of them

tried to remove them thru device mgr, but when i reboot...hello...there back again. even tried specific software, but it thinks they are hardware....and wont remove them. and i've already un-installed daemon tools(it left them behind).not a big deal, but since you sent me the link, i realized how much i freakin love those old programs, and decided to download a few to a diff. partition on my hd.saw clone has virtual drives/figured id buy them....but thought safe to unload d-tools first, for fear of a conflict.

    ps adriana is stupid hottttt!!!!
