I hope this is the forum for this. I used premiere pro 1.5 to export an project as an mpeg2 for burning to dvd. I just got avicodec (great tool) and looked up the outputted file. It says it is Mpeg-1 VCD file, not DVD. The extention of the file is M2V. Could it be that avidocec is wrong? I encoded using two pass vbr and then authored with tmpgenc author - how could this end up being a VCD? thanks for any help

if avicodec says mpeg1 then its in a vcd format.Just load it into convert x to dvd and it will be re encoded to mpeg2

oddly enough, gspot says it is mpeg2. I encoded using the adobe media encoder in premier pro 1.5 using the mainconcept codec and vbr 2 pass = any idea why it came out vcd?
