In a pinch I bought some cheap Optimum DVD-R. 40 of the 50 didn't work. I received a new batch of Ridata media and am having the same thing. I keep getting "Disc can not be used because it is not recognized." Is it just a coincidence? I'm using 10.4.3 and Toast 7. The burner is Pioneer DVR-105. Any help is appreciated.

I just checked the preferences and found that PAL, not NTSC, was checked. I bought it in NYC, and didn't even notice it. I don't know if that was it.

I upgraded to 7.0.1 and everything is fine. Wasted a lot of media though.
