    Hello all,

I am beating my brains out trying to watch video clips that are encoded with the HEVC x265 codec. My only solution to date is to watch them on my desktop/laptop using VLC VideoLan. I don't want to spend hours converting them down to x264, if I can help it.

Is it at all possible to install the codec onto my TV (PAL system in Australia) and/or a DVD player so that I can watch videos on my 'bigger' screen.....or is this only the manufacturer of my devices can update?

If not possible, could I use Chrome Cast to 'send' the picture from my desktop/laptop VLC to my TV?

Any help and/or suggestions would be welcome.
