google is your friend, you woul;d not believe the number of hitts you will get when you type in ripping program for Macintosh, have you tryed going to mac world? here is a http://www.macworld.com/search/inde...ning+programs&cof=FORID:11&sa.x=0&sa.y=0#1647 wow that was easy!
There's DVDBackUp, but that was abandoned by the creators a while back so doesn't rip some of the more modern films correctly. Still, it's free, easy to use and still available. Although MTR seems to be the program of choice these days . . . .
yadex 0.99 was very good. Unfortunately pressure of an effective nature caused the developer to cease to circulate it. See if you can find it. There's very little documentation, so it's a poor choice for the beginner, but it does rip some discs MTR does not. (yadex 1.x is not useful for this purpose). I used Toast to mount the .dmg file that was the output of yadex 0.99. This makes the Mac think the mounted volume is a physical DVD, and one can then run MTR on it if it needs to have more lice combed from its hair. Shrink and burn if or as you like, as elsewhere discussed in these forums.
