what i want to know is how to tell the difference between xvid and divx files.I tryed right click and properties and it just says avi and doesnt tell me if the file is an xvid or divx.the reason im asking is my dvd player will play divx but not xvid.even better would be a way to convert an xvid to divx without changing the file size.I can change either to dvd with dvdflick so thats not a problem.any help would be appreciated.

GSpot or Media Coder can report the codec used by a video.

Fourcc Changer can change the flag from one code to another without re-encoding.
This (hopefully) fools the player into accepting the video.
Note the use of upper/lower case.
